Passkeys

When you use Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, a device PIN, a security key, or another supported method to approve a passkey, that verification is handled by your device, operating system, browser, security key, or passkey credential provider.

Expat Crow does not receive or store your fingerprint, facial recognition data, device PIN, or other biometric template used by your device or credential provider to approve the passkey.

Expat Crow and its authentication provider receive and store the credential information necessary to associate and authenticate your passkey with your account. Your private passkey credential remains with the device, security key, or credential provider where you save it.

Passkeys may be synchronized across devices by a credential provider you choose. Any synchronization or provider-specific storage is governed by that provider's services and settings.

Passkeys are optional. Expat Crow may continue to provide other sign-in or account-recovery methods. Keep access to your fallback authentication methods and protect the devices and credential providers where your passkeys are stored.

A passkey does not necessarily replace additional security requirements. Expat Crow may still require two-factor authentication or another verification step when applicable to your account.
